Q: My child has not played organized football in past years, will my child play with others who are new?

Q: Can I request that my child play for specific coach?
A: At the Flag level, you can request a specific coach. Please note that on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate this request. Unfortunately, not all of these requests can be honored given the apportionment of teams and keeping an equitable number of players per team.
Q: Can I request my child to be on the same team as a friend?
A: At the Flag level, you can request that your child play on the same team as a friend. The Flag Coordinator will consider this request when establishing teams. Please note the friend request on your registration form. Again, we will do our best to accommodate these requests, but cannot guarantee them in all cases.
Q: Can I request my child to be on the same Flag team as a sibling?

Q: What is the purpose of the “Weight” provided on registration form?

Q: Where do teams practice and play games?
A: Most teams will practice at or near the school/park they are grouped by. Your head coach will make that determination and will notify all parents. All flag games will be played on Saturdays at Pioneer Park.
Q: Can non-residents play in the Arlington Cowboys program?
A: Yes, but there is an additional fee for non-resident players (outside of the 60004 and 60005 zip codes).
Q: Can I still register my son or daughter if I missed the June 13th deadline?
A: After the June 13th deadline you may register your child, but a $50 non-refundable latenfee is required and the child may be wait-listed.
Q: How does the “Wait-list” work?
A: The earlier the child is registered after the June deadline, the sooner you will be notified if your child has cleared the wait-list. At the Flag level the wait-list is addressed on a first-come, first serve basis.
Q: Will a coach contact my child prior to the opening of the season?
A: Yes, the coaches will be contacting their teams ahead of the first practice to welcome them to the team and provide information on practice, etc.
Q: I am interested in being a coach. Who do I contact and how to I apply?
A: On your child’s registration form there is a box to fill-in for “Job code.” Please fill-in either “1” for Head Coach or “2” for Assistant coach, respectively.
Q: What is the practice schedule?
A: Each head coach will determine the team’s practice schedule and location. Practices will begin no earlier than the week of August 8th. At the flag level team practices are typically 2-3 times per week in August and 1-2 times per week during the September-October timeframe.
